1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using ALIS ("the App") and our website at https://alis.site ("the Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use ALIS.
2. Description of Service
ALIS (Adaptive Layering Intelligence System) is an AI assistant application for iOS and macOS that runs language models locally on your device. ALIS provides:
- On-device AI conversation and task assistance
- Integration with third-party services (email, messaging, calendar)
- Event-driven automations
- A modular skill system for extensibility
- Voice input and output capabilities
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use ALIS. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use ALIS in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Not use ALIS for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App
- Not distribute, sublicense, or resell the App without authorization
- Maintain the security of your device and any connected third-party accounts
- Not use ALIS to generate spam, phishing, or other malicious content
5. On-Device Processing
ALIS processes data locally on your device. You acknowledge and understand that:
- AI outputs are not guaranteed to be accurate. Language models can produce incorrect, incomplete, or misleading information. You should verify important information independently.
- Performance depends on your device. Model quality and speed vary based on your hardware capabilities and available resources.
- You are responsible for your data. Since data stays on your device, you are responsible for backups and data management.
6. Third-Party Integrations
ALIS allows you to connect third-party services (Gmail, Telegram, Apple Mail, Calendar, etc.). When using these integrations:
- You are responsible for complying with the terms of each third-party service
- We are not liable for any actions taken through third-party services via ALIS
- You grant ALIS permission to access these services on your behalf, within the scope you authorize
- You can revoke access to any third-party service at any time
7. Automations and Actions
ALIS supports event-driven automations that can perform actions on your behalf (sending emails, messages, creating events, etc.). You acknowledge that:
- You are fully responsible for configuring and reviewing automations
- Actions performed by automations are your actions — ALIS executes them on your instructions
- You should test automations before deploying them in production contexts
- We are not responsible for unintended consequences of automated actions
8. Intellectual Property
The ALIS application, website, brand, logos, and documentation are the property of ALIS and are protected by intellectual property laws.
Content you create using ALIS (conversations, automations, custom skills) belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your content.
9. Skills and Extensions
ALIS supports third-party skills created by the community. When using community skills:
- Third-party skills are provided "as is" without warranty
- We are not responsible for the behavior, security, or reliability of third-party skills
- You should review skill permissions before installation
- We reserve the right to remove skills that violate these Terms
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
ALIS is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that ALIS will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI outputs will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any specific purpose.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ALIS and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:
- Data loss or corruption on your device
- Inaccurate AI-generated content
- Unintended actions performed by automations
- Third-party service failures or security breaches
- Loss of access to connected services
12. Termination
You may stop using ALIS at any time by uninstalling the App. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to online services (website, community, Skill Lab) for users who violate these Terms.
Since ALIS runs locally, uninstalling the App removes all on-device data. Data stored by connected third-party services is governed by their respective policies.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting updated Terms on this page and updating the date above. Continued use of ALIS after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Italy. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Italy.
